GNO: Sagada Pines Cafe

Girls Night Out presents: Where do bitter notes go?

3...2...1...

"Where do bitter notes go? can they find their way home?"

One thing I do whenever I'm in travel is to at least have one bottle or one glass of drink to have a cheers! Happy hour to congratulate myself that I made it to other place. On our first night in Sagada, we passed by two looking good cafe that obviously selling drinks. I said to Carissa that we should have a drink there, just one bottle.

On our last night in Sagada, we checked the two cute spots: Kimchi and Sagada Pine Cafe, the other cafe was full of people drinking and eating and we find the ambiance not cool. #sorry So we went to this cute cool cafe with just two ladies. Inside the cafe looks like a mess, but all of them are artworks! Too bad, some of the people who just peek inside just passed by and go to the other bar. #notaste Anyway, we loved it because there were just few people inside.

We ordered rice wine because we are in Sagada and rice wine is their specialty local drink. The drink is hard as pure lambanog! PHP70.00/glass

That night was Valentine's Day so happy to have a date with Carissa! Truly girls night out. :)
The note says: We have beers as cold as your ex heart.

For the record, Sagada is already known for soul searching destination. You can really find peace of mind there. Not until the movie The Thing Called Tadhana inspires everyone to go there, so make sure you have to take note of the reminders and tips on how you will enjoy Sagada.

Whoa! There are a lot of notes on the wall. This cafe heard a lot of heartbroken and happy stories from the people who were there. Here are some spotted notes:

A note for winning back his ex-girlfriend.

A note that saying he will go back with her? hmm...

My favorite note! Wishing this girl the best!

While surrounded by notes, I decided not to leave one because there are too much already and I don't have any bitter messages to leave in this place because for me, this is one of the happiest places I've ever been to and seriously, I want to go back! *insert awww...

Sumaguing Cave, Sagada, Mountain Province Trip 2015

Sumaguing Cave, Sagada Mountain Province 2015

"Plot twist, plot twist!" So many plot twist happened these past few weeks in my life. I am so happy to have all the answers and now I am moving forward.

What so great about it is that I can now share my Sagada Trip from last month. I was told by my friend that of all dates why I decided to go there on Valentines Day? I said, I didn't notice not until never mind.

I asked Carissa if she already blog about our Sagada coldventure, she said "not yet, I can't even describe Sagada" I guess she is still awe with the place. Haaay, so love the place and missing it everyday. :(

So here yah go, if you have read my post about our home for few days “Sagada Home Stay” post then you know what I am going to share.

Sumaguing Cave (Normal Caving Mode)

There are two types of caving that you might want to know just in case you want to visit Sagada soon (eherm, friends out there..)

Two types:
  • Normal (easy)
  • Cave Connections (the hardest)

Since we are not equipped and not really ready for this kind of activity, we choose the “normal mode” not bad for all the first timers. It was really scary, but when I saw a group of senior citizen going out from the cave, I was amazed! So it was really fun, I guess.

First time to do caving! They really preserved everything and all natural! You need a tour guide on each group of people and each guide has petroleum gas so we have a light inside.

Look at our tour guide, waitin for all of us at the entrance, yes! entrance of the cave!

He prepared the petroleum gas.

It was really hard to take photos inside because you need to free your hands from holding your phone, camera or anything. You need to wear non-slippery shoes or sandals for this, but there’s a part that you need to take it off and leave it somewhere safe. Some part of the cave is really slippery that you will scream to death and give up, I guess. :D (Like I almost did that) Here are some photos that I can’t give justice to. Huhuhuhu.

The first part was easy as I can just wink on it. :D #sisiw

Tip: Be one of the first ten people to follow the guide, so you can have a chance to wait, sit (if you can) and rest while them watching the struggle and stuck in the traffic. Look at that!

Advantage:, Issa and I can take photos with the best settings that we can, hello?! we need more light inside the cave.

I miss these girls, they love as in love taking photos! :D

I brought my Bric’s bag, this is not a dry bag, but when I bought it, I asked if my things are safe just in case I will bring it to the beach. The material is really nice. So there. Also, this was the slippery part of the cave that Issa can still take photo of me struggling? whaaat? :O

These are the shots by Carissa, forgive us for the blurry photos we did the best we can have good shots. It is so cold inside the cave, how much more the water!

Oh no! Traffic again, so I asked Carissa to take photos of me as remembrance inside the cave. :) Thank you so much, I love you!

Trying to look fierce as "I did it, B" look, but ewwie. hahaha

So better smile. :)

On our way up was easy for some of us unlike going down the cave. Be sure to wear comfortable outfit that you can easily move around because you will use your body. It was a great adventure, I got dirty because I sat on the rocks inside, but who cares, it was a fulfilling when I went out of the cave and see the mountains and green trees! Whoa! I did it! :)

Sagada Cave Man: You can wash your hands and feet here: PHP10 for washing and PHP20 if you want to take a bath.

Feels good to see the outside after our caving.

Sagada is really literally an adventure! More posts soon! :)

Travel Diary: Sagada Home Stay

Our home for few days!

Finally sharing the first part of my adventure in Sagada. To be honest, I just prepared and waited for the time to leave the city and go to Sagada. I didn't have enough time to check what are the tourist spots looks like. Carissa informed me to bring aqua shoes, but that was too late. I went to the mall an hour before it closed and I got nothing.

While waiting for our flight, we spotted the coolest couple who are in to travel and adventure together. Sweet.

Carissa, I, Sheila and Gian of www.andrenalineromance.com

It was their first time to bumped with co-bloggers at the airport and same flight! Whooaa! :)

When we passed by in Bontoc, Benguet, we thought we are already in Sagada, but our driver told us we have not yet arrived. So, I slept again. When we arrived in Sagada, it was noon time, the AC in our van was off and I felt warm. When I looked outside, I said to myself that "oohh.. it's hot outside." but when I stepped out of the van "whoooaa! sooo cold!" I just love the weather.

We stayed in Sagada Home Stay. Carissa and I were so lucky to stay on the other side, their new building, not that pink house though, the other one to the left side, their rooms are good for two! We have our own space, free coffee, but no bon fire.

Here's our small and comfy room! :) No TV, no AC, no fan, but there's a mirror. HAHAHA! :)

I love it more when my socks is paired with our sheet!

They have second floor for two more rooms. Still good for two persons.

Shared bathrooms. Not a problem at all, no one can take a challenge to take a bath in their cold weather except me! I enjoyed it because the water is so warm :)

Free Sagada home brewed coffee!

Our terrace and view! :)

I swear the heat is really harsh, but because of the cold weather you will not bothered. Look at my transition lens! :)

My outfit for our first activity: Sumaguing Cave! I will blog about it soon. :)

We were given atleast 2 hours to prepare and rest before our caving activity. Good thing, I brought my book that I personally ordered from my favorite Author: Mina Esguerra - The Harder We Fall. I will create a separate post about the books.

Cold weather + coffee + a good book = perfect Sagada! Even MJ, agreed on it! :)

LOVELY VIEW! :)

More blog posts about my Sagada trip. :)

Thank you N.E.C. Tours

Have a great day everyone!
