Chasing Shinjuku Nights

It was 12 midnight when Carissa decided to go out and buy stuff in Donki (Don Quixote) store in the area. I was not in the mood to go out that time because I was already sleepy, but since it was her last night in the city, I realized that I will be solo again for another five days! Then I started to think about what to do for the rest of the days. Should I go to Sapporo for a couple of days?

We were supposed to go to Omoide Yokocho area where I told her about the local bars and resto to eat yakiniku and drink sake. Unfortunately, all of them are closed and I had a perfect spot to take a photo to opt. BUT really, I looked tired here and sleepy. Carissa wondered why I was not in the mood.

We stayed in one of the APA Hotels in the center of Shinjuku. A few minutes away from the nightlife such as clubs and red light district. Damn you better to act that you are local when you passed by these clubs or else you will be harassed by some promoters outside asking you to come inside their bar. It was not my first time in the area, but I am curious what it looks like inside. I need a friend who loves to drink to go with me and check out the crowd? HAHAHA

Oh well, I wish I can do that when I come back again and probably will try Roppongi area as I heard that they have good bars there or should I book pub crawl to meet new strangers and turn them into still strangers because you will never ever see them again.

I will pack my stuff after I published this post because I am flying to Tokyo tomorrow with my OG travel buddy Jo from Cebu as well. (okay that was random, I am writing about this, but I will be there the next day). You can check my Snapchat and Instagram: @jewelclicks for my updates or stories.

Looking forward to enjoying the cold weather before I hit the beach this summer!
But first, I need to work out. HAHA

Until my next post!

Have a great day everyone!

Go Local - Trip in Hondagua Quezon Province

There were series of long weekends and sad to say I had no plans to visit home in Cebu, so when my friend Rams the guy behind Lalaking Gala blog, invited me to visit his hometown in Quezon Province, I said, G! (Go, because you know the millennial term).

We left Manila at 2AM of Saturday and arrived Lucena Grand Terminal at 6AM. Then we waited for a bus going to Calauag. That was more or less three hours ride! We had stopovers that took so long. We arrived in the town at lunchtime. So we decided to eat before going to our "spontaneous" or DIY trip.

The original plan was to go to this I forgot the name of the island, but Rams didn't do his assignment of searching how to get there, the travel time and where exactly we will ride a boat to go there. So we had a second option. We went to Lopez, Quezon and rented a small boat going to Hondagua, Quezon.

Mode of transportation: Trolly
(I forgot what is the term of their cart)

Road Map!
From DLTB Bus Terminal to Lucena Quezon to other four towns in the province for 24hrs!

Hondagua, Quezon

It was a success! we had the beach exclusively to all of us. We were also with Rams friend. We paid PHP400 for the boat for just three to four hours.

I don't drink beer, but this is the only drink available in town. So I had two bottles.

I started to feel like there's something wrong, maybe because I had lack of sleep because our travel time.

We stopped by this old PNR Train Station in Quezon. Sad to say it's no longer operating. I wish the Philippines have this kind of transportation just like in other countries. So it would be easier for all of the Filipinos to travel going to city and provinces. Ok, I will end it here. Imagine the less travel time right? Ok, I will stop na.

After our beach trip, we went to Plaridel, Quezon for more or less one hour bus ride from Lopez Quezon. While I was in the bus, I gave in, I vomit because I was really not feeling well. I suspected that it was because I drank two bottle of beers.

We were homestay at Joel Bertumen's humble abode, childhood friend of Rams with Josh and Brian. They are known as freelance make up artists in town.

Thank you Joel for letting us staying in your home!

The next day, I have to packed my bag because I will go back to Manila after we strolled in Gumaca Quezon. They have an on going preparation for their upcoming Fiesta. I wish I witness their celebration, maybe next time.

Bye, Plaridel, until next time!

Gumaca Quezon

So I went to 5 towns in Quezon for a day! WOW!

It was a long weekend because of the barangay election. I went back to Manila on Sunday night alone. It was fun. I slept like a baby so I missed my stop which is just in front of my place. HAHAHA

Until the next "Go Local" trip here on my blog.

Have a great day everyone!

Photo Diary: One Summer Sunset in La Union

They said, "say YES to new adventures!" So I did. I am not spontaneous, guys! I AM NOT.

When my friend Sai invited me to go to La Union, I knew it was my chance to visit the town. La Union has always been on my to go to list. After I went to Siargao Island and Baler to surf, I told myself that my next stop will be La Union. That was like two or three years ago! I always questioned myself, how come I couldn't visit the place? HAHAHA

Road Trip Session

So I hopped in the car with Vince our driver and the owner of the car (yes, thank you!), Mac the front passenger entertained Vince during the trip then Sai and I sleeping in the back. They went for a night out together when Vince and Mac decided to join us to La Union. Oh well, I guess they are more spontaneous than me.

We stopped over in San Juan, La Union before going to our accommodation through Airbnb.

Villa in Bacnotan, La Union

Our Airbnb is 10 minutes away from the surfing spot. 10 minutes driving guys! But look at these beautiful interior designs/ I can say this is perfect for big groups for an outing.

Feels like in Bali!

There are other rooms with common bathroom. but beach front!

Surfing Spot in Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union

After we rest from long drive (naks! akala mo nag drived) We went to the surfing spot to check the crowd and the sunset! Since it's summer, it was crowded and full pack of people surfing, swimming, drinking and chillin.

When you have to deal with the beer.

Twins!

Sunset Session, Elyu version

Finally, I witnessed the sunset. Awww such a lovely view.

Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel Bar

After our dinner, we had a bonfire at the villa's beachfront. It was so cool and fun. I was the stranger in that group. Well, I didn't have a hard time dealing with them since they were all friendly. We ended our drinking session by the beach at almost three in the morning.

Coffee by the Beach

I woke up early to see the beach and do my thing: drinking coffee while enjoying the cool breeze. So cool!

Tadaaah! I met this cute puppy at the villa.

After we checked out, we decided to separate with the other group and had our lunch with a good view and good food near the surfing spot.

We went back to Manila feeling refreshed. It was a great short trip. I will be back to La Union during the off season so I can enjoy the beach and maybe I'll try the surfing too. My first trip in this town with first the people turned out friends I met for the first time. Definitely one for the books!

 What is your latest adventure?

Have a great day everyone!
