Geeks on a Beach 2013

I was able to attend an event in Boracay last week of September. I've met many people who are also geeks and they know how to do balance their life being a geek at work and enjoying the best time of their lives at the beach. Attending the event was a good excuse to go to Boracay! :D 

I think I didn't mention what I am doing (in real life) here on my blog or I did? *kroo kroo... okay... So here's what the event all about:

GEEKS ON A BEACH is a brand new conference for everyone who is passionate about startups, technology, design, and making the world a better place.

Featuring presentations from hand-picked experts from all across the world. GOAB is the perfect place to come and share learnings and stories with new friends in a two day get-together by the shores of splendid Boracay island in the Philippines.

As an Online Marketer, the event is really interesting for me. I am doing SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Social Media Marketing and other online stuff for Online businesses. So, if you are following me on twitter, maybe you'll get bored if you are not familiar or not into my tweets that are relevant to my work. Sigh. Sorry.

GOAB was genius! Me and Cybil had our dinner separated (different restaurants) but that was great because I really had an awesome conversation with these great people! Memorable!

YES! CAPSLOCK! Just because...

Anyway, I'm back from my Boracay trip. I attended the awesome gathering of Geeks on a Beach! It was all about Tech and start-up business for young entrepreneurs and business owners. It was a good excuse to visit Boracay! Will post photos soon! :)

When you try to control everything, you enjoy nothing. Relax, breathe, let go, and just live.

Cebu City Tour

Note: this is a draft post and since I owe you an update of my blog, I will flood you photos of my happenings last week! 

Few weeks ago, our Sister from another Mother, paid a visit here in Cebu City to spend her Holy Week with us. There are so may tourist spots to go here in Cebu but the easiest way to tour her is to have a city tour! I contacted my friend Jo Bond (yes, as in James Bond) to ask for a help with this. It was just one text message and we are all set for a tour.

Since that was Holy Thursday, nobody wants to stay at home alone. My brothers decided to go with us. It was scotching hot for a tour but we didn't care.

First off, we went to Lapu-Lapu Shrine in Mactan. To be honest, it was my first time to visit there. (Nahiya naman ako.)

Social Media Influencers Summit 2013 Experienced

Three days before the event, I received an email from a friend that there will be free tickets for the first 20 people who will register (General Participant) of this event: Social Media Influencers Summit 2013. I remember the first time I attended Visayas Blogging Summit 2011 that was great experienced.

My I.D. I should have written my twitter username instead of my name.

 

Unfortunately, the Keynote speaker Maria Ressa, the Executive Editor and CEO of Rappler.com  have to leave early for her flight to Singapore. So she talked first about "Trending Forward"

Journalist create conversation with audience via website, FB, Twitter and other social media sites.

I invited my friend Jo, she's interested to learn Social Media Marketing for business for her. Look at our eye-bags, we were both spent Friday night until dawn and we woke up for early for the summit. We can manage, really. Shout out to my friends who failed to attend the summit. HAHAHA!

After my friend shared the video of the new "myspace" the I fell in love with the background music playing while showing the whole site. I even browsed it on grooveshark and listen to it almost everyday and it gave me a happy vibes feeling! not anymore. After I watched the music video, I have to say good bye to this song, maybe.
